Podcast 39 – To Ojo Taylor, with love.

Over the course of the last two podcasts we have talked about the music that inspired us as young believers. Bands such as Undercover, the Seventy Sevens, Petra, Andy McCarroll & Moral Support, One Bad Pig and Altar Boys were pivotal in the development of our faith and our world view. But as all things in life, change is inevitable. Times change, people change, circumstances change… only God stays the same.
We discuss the revelation that one of our heroes, Ojo Taylor, founding member of our favorite band Undercover, has renounced his faith. Honestly, I halfway wish this was a video podcast so you could have seen what I saw as we recorded and discussed. The hurt and disappointment on Rich’s face was apparent, but even more so his sincere love for Ojo. Ojo Taylor and Undercover were like spiritual big brothers to both Rich and I, an anchor through our turbulent Junior High School years. Now we are faced with the horrible realization that, for Ojo at least, that anchor didn’t hold. We don’t despair completely, for no one is truly beyond the reach of our loving Savior.

Podcast 36 – Not giving up, Not giving in!

Grrrr! You know how it is. Things can be pretty tough and life can want to kick the faith and hope right out of you. So today we wrestled with those kinds of difficult issues and shared about what helps up when we are losing hope or feeling distant.

Part way through the podcast I mention a story about a man who was born without limbs. Here is a link with information and videos. You will be blessed. He is a great international speaker and very inspirational.

Podcast 31 – Mark 5 – The Horrible Episode

Ken and I can’t decide on a title. Deals with a guy having a horrible life. Jesus redeems the guy’s life. There is a woman with a horrible medical issue for 12 years, that Jesus sorts out. There is a dad having the most horrible day of his life when Jesus meets him there. Have you had a horrible week or month? This might be just the ticket for you.

You don’t have to have a horrible time to enjoy this podcast though. LOL. Take care my friends, I hope that it encourages you.

Podcast 30 – The Struggleicious™ Episode

Today Rich and I finally launch another podcast. After missing all of January we are finally back. So sorry for the long delay.

Today Rich gives us a look into the book of Mark, chapter 2. We discuss the healing of the paralyzed man, Jesus’ call of Levi (Matthew) the tax collector, fasting and the sabbath. I think he coins a new term, struggleicious. Hmmmm… I like it.

A whole new year needs a whole new look.

As you can see the new year has brought us a brand new look. I hope you like it.

With Winter comes a slow down in projects and a little more free time. Although it isn’t always fun to be involuntarily idle, this break proved to be just enough time to do what I have always wished I could have done with the site. It got me thinking about how often I miss opportunities because I am just too busy with other things. I have a tendency to just keep doing what is right in front of me instead of looking up and seeing what else could be more beneficial. I am praying that God will change my heart and mind to see the opportunities He has put in front of me and give me the courage to act upon them. I hope this New Year brings a similar renewal in your life as well.

Podcast 29 – Jesus asleep in your boat.

Today Rich and I discuss the passage in Luke Chapter 8 starting in verse 22 where Jesus and his disciples are crossing the sea of Galilee in a boat when Jesus lies down to take a nap and a storm suddenly comes up. As the disciples began to freak out it becomes a wonderful illustration for us on how we are to trust Christ when the storms rage in our own lives. After recording this podcast I was encouraged and Rich and I hope that you will be encouraged as well.

Podcast 14 – Mix and Match Faith

This week Rich and I talk about some people in the world who take different parts from different faiths to create their own Frankenstein monster of faith. Yes, it’s as scary as it sounds. Rich gives a great example about a Ninja-Pirate-Biker who has trouble fitting in.

I start the podcast with a little shout out to Air1.com, the nationwide Christian radio station that is relatively new to our town. You can listen online or you can find your own Air1 Affiliate and listen on the radio. I have listened to stations from all around the country and have really come to appreciate Air1. It is a great mix of music, songs the whole family can enjoy. I have also really enjoyed hearing the stories from people who’s lives have been changes by the ministry of Air1. Way to go guys.

Getting reacquainted with people we haven’t seen in decades can be a surprise, particularly when those we care about have seemingly abandoned their faith. It is our desire to encourage those who are faltering and to strengthen the weak so that together we may partake in the the blessings of God both here and forever more.

We briefly mention the amazing apologists Ravi Zacharias and Dinesh D’Souza.
If you want to be challenged and encouraged in your faith there are no more excellent teachers than Ravi and Dinesh. They are truly an investment in your faith, plus there are tons of Dinesh D’Souza debates with atheists on YouTube. Do a search and you’ll find a ton.
